We had a great run at the inaugural LEXUS Design Award India with two nominations and one win for ‘Design for Craft’ , this is a great honour for the work we have done with the Bidriware craftsmen over the last 3 years. Congratulations to all the winners and thanks a ton @lexus_india and ADI for the honour. This beautiful trophy Design by Michael Foley makes it all the more special. The layering milled in a block of Aluminium. .
We are pleased to have three nominations at the ELLE DECOR India EDIDA 2017 and won for two categories, Furniture & Table Top. It is been an incredible honour to have an amazing run at one of the world's best Design Awards.

CASTING BIDRIWARE AND BRASS
From last couple of weeks we have been experimenting with the casting of different metals in a single sand casting mould, this idea has been there itching us from last year ever since our master craftsman described an exquisite old piece of Bidriware he had come across possibly more than 100-150 years old, It was a vase of some sort with copper, silver, bronze and zinc alloy.
We have explored this in a simpler form to understand the process with just two alloys to start off, the result was a surprising discovery, we were not sure the two different metal when poured would fuse with each other in molten state. The pattern which developed at the union is reminiscent of the fractals in nature, its just like the sea meeting the land surface, creating a shoreline.
We have casted a soft square plate, which can be a vide-poche..
The Blub vide poche will be exhibited at the EDIDA Winners gallery at India Design ID 2016 till 14th Feb.

It fills us with immense pleasure to announce that we won an ELLE DECO International Design Award, EDIDA 2015.
With our fascination with Chaos theory, it reflects the fractals that appear in nature with snowflake motifs. No two snowflakes patterns are same in the whole collection. The bright patterns against the deep black oxidized surface highlight the brilliant geometric precision of nature.
We have developed a new technique of Selective oxidizing for the Bidriware alloy.
This march we have started an exciting collaboration with artisans of the medieval art of Bidriware evolving from Persian inlay works with metals.
Bidriware a damascening craft, involves inlay work in silver, gold, copper and other metals on a Zinc and Copper alloy (9:1).e are A very special oxidizing process is used, it's done with a rare mud found in the unlit areas of Bidar fort, which renders the deep black colour to the alloy leaving the inlay as it is.
This is said to have medicinal properties when used to drink water from it.
We had the honor of being visited by Mr. Guilio Cappellini and Ms. Patricia Urquiola at the Godrej Design Lab Exhibit @ INDIA DESIGN ID 2015, Delhi.

We are commissioned to design the new Italian Pizzeria in Dubai, Cafe Lambretta (franchise of Cafe lambretta Goa). It just gets two things we love together - 'Italian things on wheels' and 'Design'.
Among others, at the moment we are working on a project involving reclaimed automotive elements, it's a set of stools, using discarded SUV springs and diaphragm springs of a clutch assembly; they come in a limited number of 9, each in a unique colour.
