BLAK Side table
The black and golden from the visuals of ancient artefacts of Egypt and Persia provoked this series. One of the first in that is 'BLAK Stool'. It is quite 'Primitive' in its expression of form and finish, the way the brilliant golden finish contrasts with the rough texture of black wood, relatively emphasising its texture more. It provokes certain nostalgia of the ancient era.
The form and use of gunmetal and Stained ash-wood makes it something which could have been made several centuries ago, if it was done as an essential object with not much decoration, resorting to the available tools of the age and materials.

The soft bubble elements in wood are constricted with small metal rings at the junctions, breaking and articulating the shape.
